Sorry for the long silence. We have been active but have not been communicating optimally. We had a successful APNA Day on October 31st, 2009, in Dallas, Texas. We have raised over $70,000 for the Andhra Pradesh floods. The beneficiaries of this money will be listed later.
During the convention in Dallas we decided to change APNA Foundation from Andhra Pradesh Physicians of North America Foundation to Andhra Pradesh Physicians & Professionals of North America. This will open the door for many volunteers to actively participate and involve in APNA activities. We also have decided to have a youth conference along with the next convention.
We will have an APNA convention in Chicago in the year 2011. The details of this will be announced later.
With the change of APNA participants from strictly physicians to physicians and professionals, we have a much larger pool from which to select to serve as office bearers and on various committees. We are in the process of changing the executive committee and other office bearers.
